Basically a bar, but with above average food. Burgers were done to order and beefy; no fillers. Clam chowder had more of a bisque consistency, but a peppery bite. Prices very reasonable. Service fast and cheerful. Seemed to have a good neighborhood crowd for a Sunday night.

We go to 3rd Base every week for lunch and have never been disappointed, never. I dislike sports bars but this place has completely won me over. Great food, service, prices. I am vegetarian and am in love with the portobello sandwich with roasted peppers and onions. Spouse is a carnivore extraordinaire and has gotten the hamburger (from local butcher, Sims) almost every time we go there. Spouse liked the tomatoes and mentioned that they tasted like they were just picked: waitress commented, "they were". Locavore sports bar in Laporte, Indiana? They make their own salad dressings. Try the French: it is great. Chardonnay is less than $5/glass and delicious. Many beer choices. Mostly regulars, but you can fit right in .Don't be turned off by all the trucks and motorcycles in the parking lot (newly paved!) I really like this place. Recommended!

This sports bar is located across the road from Pine Lake. There is a patio if you want to dine outside. It was brightly lit and colorful on the inside. Service was fast and friendly. Our waitress didn't have any issues giving us all separate checks. The menu is long and full of bar food goodies like chicken wings, salads, soups, burgers, sandwiches, buffalo chicken wrap, and hot dog. Prices are reasonable. Taco Salad $7 - A generous helping of seasoned taco meat over iceberg lettuce. Topped with cheddar and mozzarella cheese and diced tomatoes. The shell was crispy and tasty.

Stopped after work yesterday for take out. I ordered the Malibu Chicken as suggested by a friend and it was delicious! The char-grilled flavor was awesome and the sandwich was huge. It came with fries for $7.95. I ordered a margarita to drink while I waited and it was very well made and also delicious. The lady bartender was very friendly. This place is not fancy by any stretch of the imagination but the food is good. They have about ten tables outside that were all full. The bar was full too so that's always a good sign. I'm looking forward to going back.

My wife and I went there last night for some drinks and burgers. The place was pretty empty, except for the three waitresses sitting at the bar. Our bar maid (slightly overweight blonde) asked what we wanted to drink and my wife wanted a Bahama Mama. The barmaid said she didn't know to how to make it and what else would my wife want. Didn't know how to make it?? They have Bartender's Bibles in bars and all she had to do was look it up. One of the other barmaids sitting at the bar said she would make it and she looked it up online. I ordered a Jack and Sprite. We each ordered a cheeseburger (which were really good). When it came to ordering another drink, our barmaid did everything humanly possible not to look our way...even went into the kitchen and brought out dinner and sat down and started to eat. We motioned to one of the other barmaids and she told ours that we wanted another round. Very unfriendly place!!...that is, unless you're one of the good ole boys. If you just coming into town, pass on this place. There is much better and friendlier places to go to. Only giving two stars because the burgers were good, without the burgers: NO stars

We ate here for the first time.because of good reviews. My wife had the daily special which was the chicken melt on rye and I had a Swiss burger. My wife said hers was excellent. My burger was very good though I'd like to see a little darker grill marks on the meat. We both had the waffle fries which were also very good. We were he about 2 in the afternoon and the place was fairly quite. It's a sports bar & grill so I would think it gets noisy in the evenings and weekends. Service was good and the waitress friendly.

I have to say I was not impressed with this place. My boyfriend and I were on our way home from visiting a friend when we wanted to stop for something to eat. We saw 3rd Base on yelp and saw it got some pretty good reviews. I was very disappointed. When we first walked in it was pretty empty, granted it was in the afternoon so I wasn't planning on it being crowded. However, one would think the bartenders or waitresses would be happy to see customers come in, but this place is obviously geared toward regulars because they were NOT happy to see new faces. The waitress didn't smile once at us and only came by us to take our drink order, food order, and to give us the check. I had gotten their taco bowl and was pretty excited about it since it came highly recommended, however, the chili was burnt and the lettuce was limp, honestly it was pretty gross and I couldn't finish it. I completely understand this is bar food and wasn't expecting a 5 star restaurant. However, if you aren't going to take your time and make good food I don't care if you are a bar you shouldn't make food. Our drinks took forever, which doesn't make sense since the place was empty but the bartender was also waitressing so we gave her the benefit of the doubt. The view of the lake was beautiful, but I won't be returning and if you are driving that way I suggest you drive a little further and find something else.

We love this place, sometimes more than others. The food is usually good and the service is usually OK but the beer selection is the worst. We would come here more often if they offered a decent craft brew selection but they don't. Ally is the best! We want good beer. This is easily resolved. Get some Bells and some Founders and you can make me happier, if you are interested. Thank you.

Great sports bar. Local place, family owned, big menu, and surprisingly delicious food. Stopped here on our cross country trip for lunch and were very happy with all our food. They also had outdoor seating and it was located on a gorgeous lake. No bad things to say about this joint!

Come here often with siblings...great place to hang on a Friday evening. Good food & drinks. Husband doesn't like minimal beer selection. Allie is a great server. One of the few bars in LaPorte we feel safe. Always get Jamaican Jerk wings and awesome onion rings.
